AFSCME Local 2432 has come to an agreement with City Management for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which includes a 4% COLA plus a one-time net payment based on the employee statuses below: Full Time = $1,000 Part Time 39 hours = $750 Part Time 29 hours = $500 Part Time 14 hours = $250 This agreement is to provide some much needed relief in these inflationary times while we continue to negotiate a successor union contract. The raise would be effective the full first pay period after September 30, 2022. We will be continuing to bargain for the restoration of a step plan and for other important benefits. Q. When will we get the raise? A. AFSCME employees must first vote to ratify the MOU's next Wednesday, October 12th. The City Commission must also vote on the MOU's. We will have more information about the timing of the raise after both votes. Q. What does "net one-tme payment" mean? A. The net one-time payment is the amount you will receive after taxes are deducted. Q. Can non-members vote on the MOU's? A. Yes, members and non-members can vote next Wednesday. All who vote must provide ID (City badge is sufficient). Q. Professional MOU mentions the increased ranges but not how the wage increase works. A. Great catch! The incorrect drafts were uploaded for both Professional and Supervisory bargaining units and the updated MOU's are below. Q. Is the Union still working to negotiate a 3 year contract? A. Yes, AFSCME Local 2432 will continue to bargain for a 3 year contract after this MOU is ratified.
